United Kingdom
– Walters Power UK, Ltd., creatively applied its UK-based inventory, owned together with an investment fund, to meet a key generation capacity need for the UK National Grid. Construction work has started on the first of a series of $3 million to $5 million projects that will be commissioned in 2010. The 8MW Wartsila powered plant in Trumfleet, expected to be commissioned in February 2010, will be the first in a series of small power plants in the United Kingdom.
California
– Walters Power California, based in Newport Beach, Calif., has several key projects under development. These include a 30MW base load biomass plant, biofuel units, and small generators powered from gasifiers. Walters Power California staff has a commanding knowledge of one of the most challenging and promising renewable markets in the world.
Pakistan
– Through affiliated companies Pakistan Power Resources and Walters Power International, Ltd, Walters Power International developed, owns and operates over $150 million in power projects in this large and complex country of 175 million people. With the 136MW Bhikhi Power Plant operating, two other plants totaling 160MW under constructions and four other power plants totaling 600 MW under development, WPI and its partners expect to become one of the largest independent power producers in Pakistan in the next 24 months. A local staff of 55, based in Lahore, Pakistan, works to build and manage these important infrastructure projects for this important South Asian country. WPI is also working with its partners, The Associated Group, to develop a re-gasification facility to increase the natural gas fuel supply for Pakistan.
Oklahoma
– Walters Power International is working with local partners to develop a high-voltage transmission line to assist with the export of renewable and excess power generation from WPI's home state.
